We got back on the bus after our brief stop at the Blue House and headed to the Itaewon shopping district [LINK] for a lunch of bibimbap. Tom was too busy eating to take any photos there. Then it was back aboard the bus for the one-hour ride to the Korean Folk Village [LINK]. A large outdoor museum of traditional Korean life, the Folk Village features many examples of traditional peasant architecture [Image 99, Image 102], and crafts such as basket weaving [Image 101]. We learned a lot about rural Korean life during the Chosun Dynasty, and we had a great time together [Image 104]. Unfortunately, it rained through most of our visit to the Folk Village [Image 105], and despite the exhilarating beauty of the place [Image 106], we were exhausted after a full day of touring! We dozed during most of our return trip, which took nearly two hours due to the rush-hour traffic, and when we got back to our hotel we just wanted to find a fast and familiar restaurant for dinner. What better place than Pizza Hut? We were worn out [Image 107], but we enjoyed our bulgogi pizza (!) and the fascinating intersection of Korean and American culture [Image 108].
